They really needed to keep the V10. Couldn't they have just upgraded it in terms of power and made it better in terms of emissions? It sounds erotic.

That motor was bonkers but the V8TT is more modular...keeps costs down.

Yeah I know.....but imagine a world with N/A V10 M6 Gran Coupes.....amazing. And with the way BMW is going, they might even make a shooting brake.

You mean "Estate Coupe," or some such nonsense.

Having driven each M5 from the past decade (okay, that sounds kinda snooty, but whatever) - E39, E60, and F10 - I would rate the F10's twin turbo V8 as the most insane (#1), E39's V8 as the most neck-snapping (#2), and the E60's V10 as the most lack-luster.... until you rev it up over 5K.
Around town/daily driving the E60 just doesn't feel like a fast car since there is no low-end torque. The F10's motor reminds me of my E39's, if I added twin turbos... and some nitrous. It looks ridiculous to work on though:

Completely agree, those things sounded like f1 cars with an eisenmann. You could think BMW could take a financial hit on their ///m cars with how popular their mainstream cars are.

No wonder those things cost a fortune to service, that looks insane!

Does anyone wonder if he hit that white van at the end?
